This feels yet a bit coiled and will surely benefit from more time in bottle. But it's already showing this wine's trademark balance between moreishness and vibrancy. Pear peel, clementine zest, toasted almonds, fresh hay, jasmine and wild flowers dance in the glass. A thin veil of vanilla and white pepper covers it all. Mouthwatering mineral freshness keeps you reaching for the glass.

Transparent with a chalky edge looming from the creamy lemon curd, lime, green spice and brioche. This is fresh and tangy with bright acidity bringing a mouthwatering quality to the palate. Quite well-framed and textured. An outstanding Rioja Blanco here made with viura, malvasia and a small quantity of other varieties. Drink now or hold.
