Broad and voluptuous, this white hums with savory energy and power, deftly balancing a complex mix of aloe, green plum, smoky pineapple and white mocha notes, while an attractive saltiness and blood orange acidity bring cut to the earthy, creamy palate. Concentrated and long, offering details of warm hay and salted caramel on the endless finish. An excellent, thrilling wine. Drink now through 2035. 25 cases imported.

Expressive nose of mango, pineapple chutney and flint. Serious tannin structure, but they are fine and anchor the full-bodied palate and drive the long, fine-grained and substantial finish. This tastes really good now, but the full aromatic complexity demands some patience. Drink or hold.

The 202 Grüner Veltliner Axpoint Smaragd was picked on deep loess. The nose is shy but with air reveals ripe russet pear skin and smooth, fresh yeast. The palate revels in this yeasty smoothness while a fresher, juicier, brighter element of pear adds levity. The midpalate is all about silkiness, with a surprisingly textured and fresh finish for a wine that is ripe and flowing. Both yeast and fruit show their mettle on the long, rounded, mellow finish.
