East facing. Pale in colour, a very light oaking, a wealth of ripe but fresh apples. What starts as a solid block of white fruit expands and takes on some stony notes as well, a long and distinguished finish, still with some apple as well as citrus.

The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrieres 1er Cru has a vivacious bouquet with honeysuckle, beeswax, citrus fruit and a touch of smoke. Superb delineation. The palate is honeyed in texture, counterbalanced by a fine line of acidity, lightly spiced with a touch of toffee apple on the finish. Fine, but I'm not sure of the longevity of this cuvée.
