The 2022 Santenay Cuvée S, named after Moreau's grandmother Simone, comes from colluvial soils that tend to suffer millerandage. It has a refined and elegant bouquet with red cherries and crushed strawberry scents - fine mineralité here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, an "airy" Santenay with impressive purity and grace. Feels very sustained on the finish. I feel it will gain more intensity by the time of bottling.

An attractive glowing purple. A slightly more vigorous fruit, this is a cut above. In fact, it is a really lovely red fruited Santenay, darker berries here, a little spice from the wood but the fruit is-in control. Recommended. Drink from 2026-2030. Tasted Nov 2023.
