A solid carmenere with solid blackberries, dark olives and freshly roasted spices and herbs. Rich and fleshy with a medium-to full-bodied palate that unleashes some white pepper and green herbs. Long, silky and fruit-expressive with a peppery finish. Drink through to 2026.

The 2021 Carménère Gran Reserva contains a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) from Fundo Tarapacá, Maipo Valley. Purple in hue. The nose offers blackberry and ash notes with hints of spice and balsamic aromas over a bed of oak. Indulgent and juicy with fine, reactive tannins, the fruit and oak finish lingers at length. The cool year brought out the fruity character.

The leafy 2021 Gran Reserva Carmenere is medium-bodied with moderate alcohol at 13.8% and bright, fruit-driven flavors. It's not very varietal, but it's fresh, juicy and easy to drink, with moderate oak and some dusty tannins. 700,000 bottles.
