Black to the rim, where the color shows ruby-purple, this layered and complex wine is opulent in black cherries, cocoa, pencil lead and baked blueberries. Unusual for a red wine, it was barrel fermented. Fine-grained tannins saturate the deep flavors and bode well for extended aging. Best from 2027–2040.

The 2021 Era is composed of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it soars from the glass with energetic notes of crushed blackberries and blueberries, blackcurrant pastilles, and menthol leading to hints of clove oil, licorice, and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, rich, and powerful in the mouth, the generous fruit is framed by a firm structure of ripe, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and fragrant.
