A lucid, crystal-clear nose, showing guava, gooseberry, stone and a twist of green spice. A flavorful, full-bodied sauvignon blanc here, which delivers some good texture and a subtle structure. Bright and zesty, too. Vegan. Drink now.

The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Fumé Ecosystem Kaliva was aged for seven months in new French oak and comes in at 13.3% alcohol. This focuses on liveliness not depth, but it has adequate depth while handling its wood beautifully. As tends to be Alpha's style, this is well on the greener side, but it's never to the point of becoming obnoxious. Beautifully balanced and fresh, this is another lovely Sauvignon from Alpha. I'm not sure it is has quite the grip and power of some I've seen, but it is so refined and harmonious, it's hard to argue. It will be hard to put the glass down. This may yet improve.
