A very solid and beautiful red with blackberries, asphalt and violets. Stewed berries underneath it all. Medium to full body, chewy tannins and a juicy finish. Drink or hold.

Rich floral and fruit aromas come off the nose of this wine, with black cherry, violets and rose petals plus stony notes of pavement and crushed rock. The palate brings an edge. A savory blend of spices, soil and a hint of balsamic vinegar push against more berries. Tannins are substantial and chewy, and acid kicks back.

This high-altitude Nero d'Avola comes from vines growing at between 450 and 750 metres above sea level in the province of Palermo. It's a Nero of striking density and intensity but with excellent balance. Earthy dark fruit aromas complement the sticky, spicy palate, with streaks of chocolate, salt and fresh herbs.
