The Giuseppe Cortese 2020 Barbaresco delivers aromas of crushed rose, redcurrant, licorice and camphor ash. The mouthfeel is lean and polished, and this classic Barbaresco offers a solid near to medium-term drinking window thanks to its open, fruit-forward style. It ages in Slavonian oak casks for 18 months, and 10,000 bottles were released this past spring.

Subtle aromas of red berries, ground spices and dried red flowers with hints of nutmeg and citrus peel. Medium-bodied and juicy with velvety, nicely integrated tannins and a polished finish. Attractive now, but better from 2025.

Aged for 18 months in cask, the 2020 Barbaresco is a pale ruby and has a floral perfume of grenadine, red flowers, and fresh tarragon. It is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a linear feel as well as notes of fresh cranberry, zesty orange, and fresh earth. A refreshing style with a focused feel, drink it 2024-2032.
