Sandalwood and culinary spice aromas mingle with rose leather and camphor. Showing structure and a racy finesse, the vibrant palate is young and loaded with nervous energy at this stage but already delicious, offering juicy Morello cherry, raspberry and star anise framed in taut, refined tannins and bright acidity. Drink 2029–2044.

With 15,493 bottles produced with fruit selected across this celebrated MGA, the Paitin 2019 Barbaresco Serraboella reaches a perfect pitch between fruit ripeness and acidity. This exacting balance is a hallmark of the vintage. The house style, on the other hand, is focused on elegance, so you really get quite a beautiful drinking experience with this bottle. Red and purple fruits segue to wild rose and red licorice.

A velvety and delicious Barbaresco with chocolate, coffee and blackberry aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied with layers of ripe tannins and a long and juicy finish. Reserved at the finish. This needs time to open. Better after 2024.

The 2019 Barbaresco Serraboella remains elegant while taking on more spiced aromatics in its notes of licorice, red cherry, and blood orange. Possessing balance and linear structure, it has angular yet fine tannins, a fresh spine of acidity, and a great finish. This is a great value to drink 2023-2030.

The 2019 Barbaresco Serraboella is fresh, floral and quite delicate. Bright acids lift a core of red fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper. Nervy and quite aromatic, the 2019 is super-impressive today. I especially like the mineral drive. Give this sinewy, taut Barbaresco a few years to soften.
