All Merlot from a tiny parcel on the upper plateau, the 2019 Château Moulin Du Cadet reveals a healthy purple/plum hue to go with a brilliant nose of ripe black cherries, redcurrants, new leather, chalky minerality, and spring flowers. With beautifully integrated oak, medium to full body, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish, it will benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar and cruise over the following two decades. It's another brilliant vintage for this Saint-Emilion from the Lefévère family.

95 points, Jeb Dunnuck (Apr 2022)

The 2019 Moulin du Cadet is just as compelling as it was from bottle. Ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, leather and chocolate are front and center. This opulent, racy Saint-Émilion is a total pleasure. Proprietor Marie-Benedicte Lefévère has the magic touch here.

94 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous (Feb 2022)

Black-licorice, blackberry and dried-flower aromas follow through to a full body with round, polished tannins and a pretty finish. Layered tannins and a fresh finish. Wonderful energy here. Better after 2026.

94 points, James Suckling (Feb 2022)
