This Malbec shows plenty of verve, with lively acidity and firm tannins offering structure to the floral, loam-laced core of dark plum and cherry flavors, which meld with concentrated mineral and spice notes midpalate. Ends with notes of dark chocolate. Drink now through 2032. 15,000 cases imported.

Cacao, fresh blackberries and blueberries with hints of violets and lemon zest. This fresh quality to the blue and black-fruit character extends to the palate, showing fluidity, coherence and drinkability. Lovely now, but will hold for a few years, too.

The 2019 Malbec Decero (from the Remolinos Vineyard, Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo) was aged for 14 months in barrels, a quarter of them new. Purple in hue. The nose offers balsamic notes of bay leaf over layers of dark fruit, blackberry and a hint of sour cherry. Made more complex by the aging process, the reactive, polished tannins are muscular and firm, resulting in a compact ending.
