I have used B‑21 for years...their selection is good, their pricing competitive and their customer service attentive. My one grave issue with them is that they use UPS for delivery out of state and on multiple occasions, the UPS driver has claimed to attempt deiivery, when, in fact, he has not interest in carrying the package from his truck to our front door...on 6 or 7 steps! I have complained but nothing seems to change...

Produced at Bouchard since 1907, the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru du Chateau was sourced from 26 hectares of organically farmed estate vineyards across 17 parcels in the Beaune premier cru planted in a range of pebble and marl limestone soils that reflect the region’s varied terroir, each of the individual parcels ranging from Savigny-lès-Beaune to its border with Pommard fermented separately. Crafted by Bouchard's renowned long-time cellar master Frederic Weber, the beautifully balanced 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Du Chateau was aged for 14 months in around 30% new French oak, yielding a delicious and “remarkably accessible bottling” according to Wine Advocate’s William Kelley with elegant, harmonious tannins promising another decade of enjoyment.

An excellent introduction to the red wines of Beaune, this has full red-fruit and earthy character with hints of spicy oak and licorice. A crowd-pleasing balance of generosity and moderately dry tannins on the palate with good length. Should age well. Drink or hold.

A blend of 17 Beaune Premier Crus which has been exclusively produced at Bouchard since 1907. Bouchard owns 26ha, largely on pebbly/marly limestone. 12-14 months in oak with 25-35% new. Fred Weber stressed how healthy the grapes were in 2019. Vibrant redcurrant/raspberry fruit, an abundance of elegance here despite fruit ripeness and alcohol weighing in at 14.5%. Concentrated, supple and fine tannins, restrained, almost unnoticeable, oak. Weber likens the 2019 vintage to 1949.
