The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Let Folatières 1er Cru spent 12 months in barrel (228- and 600-liter) and at the time of tasting was in stainless steel. It has a stoic, almost aloof bouquet that does not want to come out to play. The palate is well balanced with pretty apricot and ginger-tinged citrus fruit, gaining weight toward the finish, which maintains the spicy edge all the way through. Excellent.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatières offers up a pretty bouquet of citrus oil, white flowers and crisp green orchard fruit, followed by a medium to full-bodied, charming and textural palate that's fine-boned, lively and mineral. This is quite a delicate, pretty Folatières that avoids excess.
