The 2017 Falanghina Flora (Beneventano) pours into the glass with an orange-yellow hue and a minerally-intense bouquet that showcases crushed peaches, young mango, and hazelnut, along with sweet yellow flowers. On the palate, silky textures sweep across the senses dramatically, delivering ripe stone fruits offset by saturating spices and zesty acids, with hints of roasted nuts developing toward the finale. The finish is long, still showing tremendous richness through its ripe fruits, yet it somehow manages to color within the lines. It’s a large-scale wine that should excel in the cellar for ten or more years.
