Since my "discovery" vintage 2010, we have presented every vintage since of Henri Perrusset's Macon-Farges Vieilles Vignes. Most notable have been the epic 2010, 2012, 2014 and now introducing the stunning 2017 – as good as Perrusset gets. Henri's Farges is a small 3-acre parcel of old-vines nearing sixty years, planted in a mixture of limestone and clay soils mixed with quartz and marine sedimentary fossils. The clay provides the unctuous density, the limestone gives structure and minerality yielding opulent Chardonnay, rich and long, with Meursault-like charisma and a cost that defies Burgundian pricing these days.
