A special bottling named for Frédéric's daughter, the 2017 Rasteau a Johanne is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah that spent 15 months in a young foudre. Subtle cedar and baking-spice notes accent flavors of raspberries, cherries and chocolate. It's full-bodied, velvety and long, with persistent tannins on the finish. Lucky owners should give it at least a couple of years in the cellar.

A step up in price as well as quality, the 2017 Rasteau A Johanne checks in as 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah that spent 18 months in foudre. It offers a brilliant, medium to full-bodied, silky, elegant profile that carries loads of blackberry and spiced cherry fruits as well as subtle cedar and garrigue aromas and flavors. Beautifully balanced, elegant, and just as silky as they come in the vintage, it's a brilliant wine to enjoy over the coming decade.
