Like the other 2017s here, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Safres is full-bodied, concentrated and velvety in texture, while boasting exceptional aromas and flavors of red raspberries and ripe cherries. Ripe, supple and long, it should be a winner.

Slightly deeper ruby-colored, the 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Safres comes all from sandy/sandstone (aka Safres in French) soils and is a Grenache-dominated blend. Black raspberries, garrigue, some earthy, floral notes and ample minerality all emerge from this beautiful wine. With medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless texture, and good purity of fruit, it's another weightless wine that's going to drink nicely right out of the gate.
