The 2016 Paveil de Luze is just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel. Cabernet Sauvignon drives this gorgeous Margaux Cru Bourgeois. Savory aromatics and a good deal of supporting structure frame the dark, racy fruit beautifully. Powerful and deep in the glass, the 2016 possesses tremendous intensity as well as character.

Very attractive, fragrant flowers on the nose, as well as a flinty, coal-dust edge, leading to a very plush, ripe and juicy palate that has a wealth of supple, rich and attractive, fleshy fruit. Great balance, too. This is delicious. Try from 2022.

Still owned, after six generations, by the de Luze family, this estate has produced a firm wine, dark with tannins and rich with black fruits. Its structure will allow it to age well, giving a full and rich wine from 2023.
