2015 Tilia Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml)

Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza, Argentina

The grapes for the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested at three different points of ripeness to achieve better balance and complexity. This usually has some Syrah from Barrancas in east Mendoza. There are varietal aromas, clearly herbal, perhaps a little blurry, in the shape of tobacco leaves, blackberries and a touch of spice. The palate is soft, with some dusty tannins giving it an austere profile. Better with food. 240,000 bottles produced.

Bright, dark red. Black cherry and currant aromas and flavors are complicated by nuances of tobacco leaf and pepper. At once smooth and vinous, offering modest depth but easy early appeal. Slightly herbal acidity enlivens the middle palate. Finishes with dusty tannins and a hint of greenness that will not get in the way of early drinking.
