Deep medium ruby. Slightly high-toned aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice, bitter chocolate and spicy oak, plus a medicinal minty nuance. Densely packed and savory; distinctly drier than the 2016 Gran Reserva Malbec, without quite the depth of flavor, complexity or length of that wine. More substantial oak tannins here give the finish an edge--even a touch of dryness. Will a couple years in bottle bring more sweetness?
