The 2015 Badette is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that was picked between 10 October and 11 October (i.e. one day.) Matured in 100% new oak, it has a complex bouquet, powerful and you might describe it as modern in style, but there is personality here with black truffle-tinged black fruit with a touch of crème de cassis. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a keen line of acidity, intense but not powerful with a clean and precise, energized finish. The 2014 left me a little nonplussed, but the 2015? Now we are talking.

A pretty and silky young red with blueberry and blackberry character. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a fresh finish.
