Leopardi Felici worked at Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill in London and at Florence’s Enoteca Pinchiorri before taking the reins at his family’s 25-acre estate in 2008. The winery sits some 30 miles from the coast, in the hills between Apiro and Cupramontana, where constant breezes and elevations of nearly 1,700 feet bring cool evenings that preserve acidity. Felici harvests grapes for this wine from 60-year-old vines and leaves the juice in contact with the skins for two weeks, infusing the wine with deep flavors of white peach and pulpy lemon, fresh sage and crushed almonds. Brisk acidity drives the flavors to a vibrant, refreshing finish.
