The 2014 Right Bank Proprietary Red Wine, a blend of 74% Cabernet Franc and 26% Merlot, is a Napa version of a St.-Emilion/Pomerol with its sweet, soft tannins, fleshy, opulent, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, lovely blueberry, black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. A hint of chocolate seems to emerge in the flavors as it lingers on your palate. This is a relatively juicy, exuberant and big wine to drink over the next 10-15 years.

The 2014 Right Bank is brisk, finely cut and savory, which is to say very much in the style of the year. Today, the new oak is a bit prominent, which hints at the wine's mid-weight personality. Still, there is plenty to like. Dark cherry, plum, herbs, mint, new leather and a kiss of French oak are among the signatures. The lifted, savory finish is quite attractive. In 2014, the Cabernet Franc is bumped up to about 75% of the blend, which is where it is likely to remain going forward. Although the 2014 is a touch slender, it is very nicely done.
