Coming from the top of the granite Eckberg (with Jean Boxler's parcels left and right and above), the 2013 Riesling Sommerberg Grand Cru displays a clear, bright, fresh and intense fruit on the nose with lovely lemon flavors. Full-bodied and rich, this is a creamy textured, round and elegant Riesling with an intense fruit of ripe and stewed apples, and a firm tannin structure. There are some bread aromas in the long finish from the long fine lees aging until September. The 2013 is still terribly young and should be aged for another five years, but it will shine for 10 to 15 years at last.

A lovely, harmonious white, layering a rich thread of petrol-tinged minerality with vibrant acidity and flavors of Gala apple, grapefruit zest, star fruit and blanched almond. Concentrated and focused throughout, yet light-footed and elegant. Drink now through 2030. 20 cases imported.

Bright yellow. Apple, crystallized lemon peel, orange blossom and a chalky nuance on the complex, refined nose. Then juicy, minerally and tight in the mouth, showing superb energy and floral lift to the crisp flavors of grapefruit, lemon jelly and powdered stone. Finishes intensely mineral and penetrating, with repeating lemony reminders. This beauty offers sneaky concentration and an uncanny combination of ripeness and vibrant acidity. It will need a good six to eight years to reach its peak.
