An ultra-elegant, reserved and exceptionally cool nose of airy red currant, wet stone and dried floral notes introduces textured and intensely mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess a wonderful sense of underlying tension. This too possesses dense but strikingly fine tannins that coat the palate on the dusty, long and mildly austere finish. Lovely juice that is beautifully balanced.

The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Le Poissenot is open and generous on the nose with lively redcurrant, raspberry and undergrowth scents. There is a candied note here, lending it femininity and personality. The palate has a gentle grip on the entry. There is fine structure here, an abiding symmetry in the mouth with a long and tender finish.

90 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Issue # 211 - Feb 2014)
