Beautiful expression of tempranillo. A pinot noir lover's tempranillo. Beautiful articulation of high elevation, cool climate, sloped vineyards and old vines planted in limestone. This gives this wine a delineation and delicacy that is delicious. The finish and length are both exceptional. For those who want wine that is not oak-dominant, who want wine that is not over-extracted, those who want a wine that is pure, authentic, and world class, this will do it.

This red is rich yet balanced, with black cherry, licorice, espresso and mineral flavors supported by well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity. Not showy, but dense and graceful. Drink now through 2022. 2,000 cases imported.

Deep ruby. Expressive aromas of black raspberry, floral oils and espresso. Lush and expansive, offering fresh red berry and spicecake flavors plus a hint of candied lavender. Finishes silky and long, with sweet, suave tannins and an echo of floral pastilles.

The 2010 Dominio de Atauta shows increased freshness compared with the 2011 vintage. Here there is more verticality, very good acidity, a mixture of red and black berries and great length. This is a great, textbook Ribera del Duero, showing power and balance. Super! Drink now-2018.

Like a caged wild animal, this Ribera moves from side to side in the mouth in a rage of tannins. Under that structure, there’s a layer of deliciously fresh red fruit flavors. Decant it for charcuterie.
