Moderately saturated medium red. Raspberry, strawberry, smoky oak and spices on the nose and palate. Supple, smooth, ripe and accessible, with moderate flavor definition. Finishes with dusty, slightly drying tannins. I'd drink this over the next few years for its youthful red fruits.

Initially this was rather woody yet with air that character dissipated if not disappeared. There is ample earth character to the ripe and moderately somber aromas of cassis and violet. The suave and very round flavors however continue to reflect the substantial oak influence and while it is by no means overwhelming, it's enough that it affects the texture and renders the mouth coating finish a bit heavy. This is not a bad wine but it lacks verve and as such, more than a few sips becomes heavy. I would note that maintaining the proper serving temperature helps.

This wine’s simple, dark cherry flavors finish on a touch of coffee bitterness and balancing raspberry sweetness. It’s soft and accessible. For roast beef.
