A sleeper of the vintage, the dense ruby/purple-tinged 2008 Branon displays chocolatey, earthy undertones intermixed with black currants and Asian plum sauce. Medium to full-bodied, rich, impressively endowed, supple and evolved, it can be drunk over the next 10-12 years.

92 points, Robert M. Parker, Jr., Wine Advocate (Issue # 194 - May 2011)

Serious, full red-red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of black raspberry, tobacco, mocha and chocolate. Dense, sweet, chewy and concentrated; broad but not heavy. Sweet berry flavors are complicated by soil tones. Finishes with serious but ripe and even tannins and excellent length. The wine's firm underlying acidity made itself felt after 24 hours in the recorked bottle.

91 points, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Jul 2011)

This has a lovely purity of fruit, with stones, blueberries, and sweet tobacco on the nose and palate. Full and silky, with a beautiful texture. Hard not to drink now. Wait until after 2012.

90 points, James Suckling (Dec 2010)
