Calling this release a tribute to Kentucky bourbon and Maryland rye, Sagamore’s 6 year old bourbon is made from a mash of 60% corn, 25% rye, and 15% malted rye. On the nose, it’s densely sweet and spicy, with molasses, brown sugar, caramel syrup, and nutmeg. The palate is well spiced with savory herbs, black licorice, and a pronounced pepperiness. The finish is long and balanced, with vanilla and caramel offset by pepper and char.
