I love the delicate, smoky reduction and spice that frame the nose of the NV Champagne Intuition Nature Brut Nature, which pours a medium yellow hue and is expressive with notes of lemon custard, raspberries, pastry, and salty earth. The first cuvée that Alexandre created for his range of wines, striving for harmony, it’s composed primarily of Meunier, with small percentages of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir coming from a collage of several parcels. This release is from 2020. Medium-bodied, it fills the front palate with a rounded, approachable profile and a creamy mousse before revealing its more structured backbone, marked by driving mineral intensity that extends through the finish. Disgorged 2024, it was aged on lees under natural cork. Drink 2025-2040.

Disgorged in January 2024, Lamblot's latest release, the NV Brut Nature Intuition Nature, comes entirely from the 2020 vintage. Lamblot commented, “I like to smell the flavors of a year and achieve harmony by blending only cépages and terroirs.” This cuvée is a blend of different vineyard sites of the estate in the Petite Montagne, Massif de Saint Thierry and Vallée de l’Ardre, composed predominantly of Pinot Meunier (65%), with the remainder being Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Emerging from the glass with a captivating bouquet of red apple, pastry, walnut and spices, it is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and intense, displaying an elegantly muscular profile, tangy acidity and a saline, mineral finish.
