A pale pink color, the NV Champagne Fleur De Miraval ER4 Brut Rose benefits from some air on opening, revealing pretty notes of fresh pastry, raspberries, fresh cherry blossoms, and candied grapefruit. By far the best of the Fleurs I have tasted up to this point, it’s elegant and medium-bodied, but light on its feet and very long on the palate. It has a zesty freshness and more structure than previous editions of this cuvée. The structure feels really profound. It’s only going to improve with time and will drink its best over the coming 15-20 years. Bravo. Made with 75% reserve wine, it’s creamy and gorgeous.

A very intense Champagne with lots of strawberry-tart and peach character, nicely framed by vivid, electric acidity. It’s medium- to full-bodied with a lightly firm center-palate and a beautiful, clear finish. It’s so focused and pure. The complexity of chardonnay comes through at the end with lightly cooked strawberries and hints of nuts and some chalk. Weightless and bright. A cotton-like texture with energetic acidity at the end. The pinot noir (25%) is 2019 and vinified as infusion with the rest from the perpetual reserve from 2018 to 2007. Then 2012 and 2007. The rest is chardonnay from Mesnil, Avize and Cramant. Drink or hold.
