Crafted as a nod to the Ryder Cup’s host state of New York, this edition of Elijah Craig Small Batch is finished with toasted staves made from applewood, a nod to the Big Apple; and sugar maple, the Empire State’s official tree. Each liquid was aged separately over an eight-week period before being vatted together and bottled at 94 proof. The result opens with rich maple syrup on the nose, followed by decadent apple pie. On the palate, maple sweetness meets notes of candy apples and caramel, flavors synonymous with the fall season. A soft, warming finish brings chocolate, cocoa, and a final touch of pepper for balance.
