Domaine du Coquerel's orchards comprise over forty varietals of apple and pear, giving the distillery an unmatched range of raw materials to craft spirits of world-class complexity on their small, triple-column still. This cask was hand-selected by none other than France's most renowned spirits authority and critic, Alexandre Vingtier, to be bottled at full cask strength for PM Spirits, so you know the pedigree here is top notch. Add to that the rarity of finding a cask of this age from Coquerel, and you have a real collector's gem with style and specifications that would command a four-digit price if the category were single malt Scotch or bourbon.
With an aromatic profile of "serious concentration and impact" and a "brooding, broad, multi-faceted yet approachable" palate, it's an undeniable piece of artisan craftsmanship representing the true potential of fully mature Calvados.
