The Tenuta delle Terre Nere 2024 Etna Rosso Moganazzi comes from a north-slope vineyard at approximately 750 meters in Castiglione di Sicilia, managed by the estate since 2009. This is a powerhouse, with a broader, bigger mouthfeel and greater fruit weight, yet it remains elegant and beautifully composed. Dark rose, wild plum and sensual dark fruit shape the bouquet, while the palate shows notable power and a more pronounced tannic side.

Aromas of raspberry and pomegranate lead the way on a nose which is saline, floral and lightly nutty. A playful palate features raspberry jam, rhubarb, milk chocolate and licorice, but formidable tannins and fierce acid add a bolt of intensity.

Complex aromas of berries, bark, black tea and smoke follow through to a full body with cherries, plums and cinnamon. Chewy and flavorful. Give it a year or two, but already impressive. Drink or hold.

The 2024 Etna Rosso Moganazzi lifts from the glass with a bouquet of mentholated blackberries, dusty sage, autumnal spices and violet pastille. This is a wine of contrasts, revealing velvety textures and polished red and black fruits offset toward the close by brisk acidity and edgy tannins. Structured yet juicy, the 2024 finishes with staining length, concentration and hints of licorice.
