The 2024 1961 Block Riesling is aromatically chalky and talcy, with notes of pressed flowers, wet river stones and cheesecloth. In the mouth, the wine is tightly coiled (as we would expect) and mineral, with white spice notes and white fruit to close. It's a very pretty, almost steely wine with great acid and structure that is persistent through the long finish. 12% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Riesling sourced from the oldest block on the Pewsey Vale estate. Pale straw with the merest flash of green. I love the crisp aromatic clarity of this wine. Freshly squeezed lime, green apple and grapefruit with hints of crushed quartz, citrus blossom, lemongrass, finger lime, ozone and a whiff of sea breeze. Steely, with an impeccable focus and drive on the palate. Finishes dry and linear with boundless energy and mineral verve.
