The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes includes fruit from Aux Barričres that is usually bottled separately. It has a very pleasant harmonious bouquet, a mélange of red and black fruit, bay leaf and light forest floor scents. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, well balanced, a little vanilla on the finish from the oak that will be subsumed by the time of bottling. Quite a lingering spiciness here; this is a fine Vieilles Vignes that should give a decade's drinking pleasure.

A blend of Longecourt & Plateaux purchased fruit plus domaine Barričres. Just six barrels made from 1.50ha. Mid purple, a bright colour, with attractively ripe dark red berry fruit on the nose. Much riper on the palate too, with a few tannins still to overcome, but here there is a quality of fruit which will; be really pleasing further down the line. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Nov 2025.

Here too there is enough wood present on the expressive and cool nose of earthier dark currant, plum and kirsch aromas to merit pointing out. The rich and solidly voluminous flavors possess reasonable density as well as a succulent mouthfeel before culminating in a lightly rustic and sneaky long finish. This is a very good Nuits villages and worth checking out. *Outstanding*
