The 2024 Vinhas Velhas Branco is a wine that has existed since 1990, but now it ferments and matures exclusively in stainless steel. It's a blend of Bical, Sercialinho and Cerceal that fermented with indigenous yeasts and was kept in stainless steel until bottling time. I just love the austere nose with a notable absence of fruit. It's all about crushed rocks, herbs and flowers, and it's balanced, elegant and subtle. It has 12.4% alcohol and 5.1 grams of acidity. It's fresh and light with lots of energy and light. This wine has a long track record for aging in bottle, and this vintage should do so. The price is unbeatable. 40,000 bottles, 400 magnums and 2,000 half-bottles produced. It was bottled during 2025.
