We still can't believe our great fortune to have established Domaine Chavy-Chouet as a direct-import relationship in 2024, as the 2023s have proven to be incredibly smart buys that, as Neal Martin implies above, far outpace their price points across the board. With that vintage now dwindling in supply, we're thrilled to announce the arrival of some true gems from his 2024 range.
Starting with the 2024 Bourgogne Blanc Les Femelottes, we're following up the gangbusters best-selling 2023 with a 2024 that hits all the right notes in a cool-vintage, classic Burgundian way. The is the domaine's "baby Puligny" from a declassified plot, that shows "incisive and direct" aromas. "The mineral character of Puligny is unmistakable, showing real terroir pedigree," writes B-21 Burgundy Buyer Andrew Kitz. The 2024 Bourgogne Blanc Les Saussots is the "baby Meursault" counterpart to the Femelottes, hailing from a site just across the Meursault line. "Ripe and round on the nose," notes Andrew, "with peach, apricot, and hints of spice, these characteristics carry through to the palate. The broad, expansive texture defies the cool growing season." Both bottlings offer proper Burgundy terroir pedigree with an unbeatable price point that we rarely see in authentic white Burgundy anymore. Finally, the 2024 Meursault Clos des Corvées de Citeau Monopole is a Burghound Outstanding gem that offers legit cellar potential. It needs a year or two to come around on the those, but "rich and quite generously proportioned flavors ... possess a seductively sappy texture while exhibiting excellent length," meaning it has plenty to offer the impatient Burg fan who wants real single-vineyard Meursault class without waiting (or paying triple digits) for it.
