The home site was planted in 2015 with a field blend of about 12 heirloom and open-pollinated selections, covering about 1ha. The wine features an array of tropical fruits, almonds and toasted nuts – the kaleidoscope in the White Walnut line-up. Ripe fruits: think guava, papaya and juicy Meyer lemon. Intense in its balance, minerality and savoury framing. Wild herbs, spices, freshly cut stone fruits and pear. Deliciously complex and loaded with nuance, yet will still be loved by your hedonist friends.

Pouring a bright silver/yellow hue, the 2023 Chardonnay White Walnut Vineyard is sourced from a site planted in 2015 with a mix of heirloom and suitcase-selected clones. This wine is stunning. Medium to full-bodied, with layers of grapefruit, flinty minerality, and vibrant citrus, it has a slightly more hedonistic edge, reminiscent of Puligny-Montrachet, and a remarkable saline lift from start to finish. This is top-tier white wine. 285 cases produced. Drink over the next 10-12 years.

A brilliant, spicy and vivid wine that’s bright and tangy in citrus and kiwi fruit, but also offering white pepper and star anise flavors on the lively palate. White peaches, lemon blossoms and minerals develop as you sip. Medium-bodied and rich in flavor but lean in texture, with racy balance. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Chardonnay White Walnut Vineyard comes from multi-clonal vines interplanted in 2015. It has a singular, compelling perfume of lemon, kumquat, fennel and matchstick that segue to deeper tones of beeswax and peach as it unfurls continuously in the glass. The medium-bodied palate is brimming with layers of ripe fruit and mineral character, delivered in a luxurious, satiny texture. Despite its generosity, fireworks of fresh acidity give it a shimmery feel, and it has a very long, ethereal finish. It will be long lived in the cellar.
