A lively, bright and driven Saint-Joseph with lots of energy and freshness to the baked cherries, spiced plums and sweet spices on the nose. It's medium-bodied with fine tannins and a core of bright acidity that adds vitality and freshness. Fleshy and peppery character on the mineral finish. Drink or hold.

Always solid, the 2023 Saint Joseph Les Côtes has a more medium-bodied, focused, mineral-laced style as well as classic Saint Joseph blue fruits, violets, and peppery herb-driven aromatics. Completely destemmed and brought up in equal parts used oak and stainless steel, it's nicely balanced, has fine yet present tannins, and a great finish.

The elegant 2023 Saint-Joseph Les Côtes introduces itself with a marked leafy streak, complemented by black cherry and graphite. Fresh violets add a floral perspective. Medium-bodied and refreshing, the 2023 provides vivid freshness and closes with moderate length on the uplifting finish. Although it is a fine effort, I have a clear preference for the more ambitious 2022.
