A ripe, intense wine that grows on your palate, with substantial salinity, intense flavors delivered in a crescendo and a broad finish. Extremely long, with increasing weight and concentration. Still, nothing showy, and it’s rather timid. Drink from 2030.

This staggeringly good wine is perhaps just ahead of last year's monumental effort, with profuse aromas that range from ripe pear, melon and crisp nectarine to white flowers, spice and butter. There is a balance of lovely intensity, weight and a creamy texture that seemingly lasts forever. The wine is a product of technical director Frédéric Weber's precision winemaking, with each section of their massive 0.89ha holding grown and vinified separately. Still maturing, this will be a wine for the ages. Ideally, one would wait at least a decade before opening this, but it will last 70 years or more.

There is a difference with Cabotte. The fruit here swells immediately on the palate, golden grapes, such a lively tension here which is amazing given the wealth of fruit. The sucrosity makes one ask the question if there is residual sweetness but no. Just an immense mouthful. Drink from 2033-2045.

This is aromatically quite similar to the La Cabotte if perhaps even spicier. There is even more volume to the concentrated big-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract that does an excellent job of buffering the firm acid spine shaping the bone-dry and hugely long finish. It's not a revelation that this is a powerful wine as Montrachet, especially from the Puligny side, but in this case what I find interesting is how much it builds from the mid-palate. If you have the patience, this should be a brilliant wine in time. *Don’t Miss!*
