Superstony with terrific brilliance and focus. There’s an incredibly exciting interaction between creamy leesiness, mineral acidity and aromas of roasted hazelnuts and Amalfi lemons and limes. The very long finish has a great chalky, flinty drive. Limited production from a 0.3 hectare parcel. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The superb Bouchard Perrières is initially somewhat closed but opens up on the palate with the aroma of mirabelle plum and quince touched with butter and spice. The texture is compact and tightly wound, with impressive tension for the vintage. The grapes are from 0.34ha divided between two organically farmed parcels. This wine will benefit from five to seven years in the cellar before opening and will continue to improve for 30 years.
