The superb Bouchard Perrières is initially somewhat closed but opens up on the palate with the aroma of mirabelle plum and quince touched with butter and spice. The texture is compact and tightly wound, with impressive tension for the vintage. The grapes are from 0.34ha divided between two organically farmed parcels. This wine will benefit from five to seven years in the cellar before opening and will continue to improve for 30 years.

Smoky, and softly woody aromas feature those of Granny Smith apple, citrus, mineral reduction and pretty acacia blossom nuances. The racy and equally perfumed flavors brim with both a lovely stoniness and sappy dry extract that helps to buffer the firm acidity supporting the compact, youthfully austere and strikingly long finale.
