Excellent depth and precision, with aromas of ripe red berries, blackberries, minerals, spices and touches of dried roses and violets. The dusty tannins are immaculate and fresh, melting with the fruit. Lots of vibrancy and precision. Long and super integrated. 40% whole clusters. Drinkable now if you like young pinots, but this is destined for a long life. Drink or hold.

Bouchard's iconic 'Vigne de L'Enfant Jésus' is again among the appellation's top wines, with a dark mulberry fruit aroma touched with exotic spices and a floral note. The tannins are supple yet firm enough to carry the wine to a pleasantly lingering finish. Technical Director Frédéric Weber takes the best grapes from their 4ha in Beaune Grèves for this bottling; each section of the vineyards is farmed and vinified separately and reunited in the final blend. Wait ideally for several years before opening; this is a very long-lived wine.

An attractively spicy nose freely offers up mostly dark berry aromas liberally laced with earth and discreet floral wisps. There is fine volume to the moderately dense and gorgeously textured flavors that possess focused power on the impressively persistent finale that is quite firm. As is usually the case, this is built-to-age and a wine that will need a minimum of at least most of decade to unwind. *Outstanding*
