The aromas are wonderful, with lavender, violets, lemon blossoms, dark cherries and a hint of sandalwood. Medium- to full-bodied with firm tannins, crunchy fruit and a bright finish. A hint of bitter chocolate makes it interesting. 65% sangiovese, 30% cabernet sauvignon and 5% malvasia nera. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Eneo is a terrific example of the house style these days at Montepeloso. Brisk and vibrant in the glass, with gorgeous fruit purity, Eneo is an absolute delight. Floral overtones extend the vibrant, brisk finish. This really opens with a bit of aeration. Best of all, Eneo is also very fairly priced for an artisan wine of this level.
