Aromas of blackberries, black olives, lavender, violets and hints of oyster shells and iodine follow through to a medium body with fine, creamy tannins and a long and energetic finish. Linear and bright. Already showing nicely, but better in three or four years.

Showing the characteristic generosity of Siepi, with red liquorice, blood orange, baked raspberries, concentrated and opulent, vivid ruby colour, delicious. A vintage with reduced yield after issues with flowering. 75% new oak for ageing. The Mazzei family of Siepi is currently on its 25th generation of winemakers, based at Castello di Fonterutoli in Castellina in Chianti, farmed organically since 2006, with Siepi from a 6ha site. Tasted twice
