The 2023 Gamlitz Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from six parcels on gravel, marl and sandstone soils. Aged on the lees for 18 months, the wine is clear on the coolish, crunchy and remarkably deep nose that reveals bright fruit aromas with saline and leafy/herbal nuances. Full-bodied, fresh and vital on the palate, Katharina's 2023 Gamlitz represents a classical Styrian vintage that gives lean, straight and refreshing wines, here paired with intensity, texture and a complex, savory and lemon-fresh finish. This is an excellent effort from classified yet not designated vineyards. 12.5% stated alcohol. Glass stopper. Tasted in Ehrenhausen in April 2025.
