Bottled in September as the Gouges team liked how the fruit was tasting. Fresh vigorous purple, with blood red fruit on the nose. Concentrated energy up front, good acidity behind, a lovely introduction to the range. Drink from 2026-2028. Tasted Nov 2024.

The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Village, matured in 15% new oak, takes a little while to settle in the glass, revealing quite plush red fruit, touches of brown spice and dark chocolate. The palate is quite tannic on the entry, then settles down to a more harmonious mid-palate. Hints of salted licorice and tobacco emerge toward the slightly dry finish.
