The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vide Bourse is terrific, offering up aromas of peach, vine blossom, beeswax and toasted hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and fleshy, it's ample but racy, retaining excellent energy and cut in a vintage and site that can deliver rather baroque-styled wines.

Smoky reduction and wood are all that can be discerned at present. More interesting are the rich to the point of opulence bigger-bodied flavors that flash evident power on the dry, balanced and compact finish that is borderline tannic. VB always ages well and this example should be no exception. *Outstanding*
